Its previous name, Journal of MIS Research, was changed to APJIS in 2009 (from Vol. 19, No. 1) with an aim to establish it as the best journal in the Asia Pacific regions. Currently, APJIS is indexed in the Scopus journal database (from 2018) and in the ABDC Journal Quality List (from 2019).
